'It's a lovely brick Edwardian house with a Victorian part added on' . . .hmmm Victorian time travel . . .

Ha ha, maybe it's the other way around? I figured someone would set me straight - but back in the US I for sure can tell a Cape Cod from a Foursquare!

Enjoy hearing about all your adventures. Your house sounds so charming. Escape to the country and a cup of tea is so soothing to me and I’ve never even been to Britain. Looking forward to the new album.

Thank you so much Joan. I loved reading your Ode to August, in all the whirlwind of moving it reminds me to just quietly sit nand appreciate it, especially the garden (while the weather is nice, today is rainy and blustery and I'm thinking what will it be like in winter?! But the sun does come through, a good thing about being near the coast) Anyways, thanks again and hope you like the album! One week from today...

Al and I argue about which way the garbage can handles should face. I say handle to the street so the guys can grab and lift. Al says cover to the front because a machine does all the work anyway. I've scoped out the neighbors too and it's about 50-50. I'm just glad somebody else even thinks about this stuff. Haha. Enjoy your new home.

Oh, that house--I'm so happy for you! Please share more as you get to know the place. And your album is coming out and then some shows too!...Exciting but overwhelming--take it one bin at a time. Good luck and enjoy.

I’m so happy for you! Your writing voice reminded me of Benchley a bit… so funny. Good luck with your album launch & tour. What a stroke of good fortune to find (and own) such a beautiful historic home.

That's so kind Angel and I just ordered one of his collections so thanks for that.

I do feel so lucky with this house - we've been looking off and on for a while. It's a gamble moving to a small town I don't know but have loved this area for a while and the house seemed worth it, and finding out now the little town a few miles from the sea is really pleasant and has what we need. I should get gardening tips from you - I know it's a different climate but! x

I would love to see and hear more about this house. I spend half of my instagram life with Savills and various "cotswold house hunters." There's nothing better than an English garden and the houses that go with them.

I'm fascinated with the gardens Erica! And we've been religious Escape To The Country watchers for years, even though they'd never bother with a town so unglamorous and not immediately picturesque - but that's how it's affordable.

That's the trick right? Be there before everyone else figures out that it's cool. It may seem unglamorous now. But one day.....

Yep, pretty much describes all the places we've lived (except the village in rural France)!

I had the same reaction to the Junk truck when I cleaned out my mom’s house. I still feel guilty about the furniture she was so proud of getting chopped up and hauled away.

I'm so sorry Linda - yes it's a bit misleading, you feel like they're going to make good use of it and then you wonder if any piece survives being heaped up like that. Here's hoping sometimes they do?
