Thank you Carlene! I'm glad you liked it, I felt so happy with that image (I probably spend way too much time looking at and thinking about Stevie and her hair!)
This was maybe the post I have liked the best from you. Growing up in a military family we moved all the time. Sometimes to strange exotic places and other times to a suburban bit of American normalcy. But every time has been the mixed feelings of excitement and concern of moving to someplace unknown. I am experiencing the same things now as I contemplate moving from the Hudson Valley myself. Best of luck. I'm around all week if you need a bit of help. Bb
Yes, life does keep carrying on. My neighbor passed on in April, and a robin made a nest in her porch light. I snapped this one day, and was surprised at what I captured... oops, it didn't let me post the picture of mama feeding baby robin...
Saying goodbye to an old house is a strange process, a little like saying goodbye to an old spouse really. (Oooh, I sense a lyric coming on!) In both cases it's "We had great time together, it's time to move on and not look back." Both houses I have lived in and sold have been massively renovated by subsequent owners; I don't need to see inside, however. Our place in Brooklyn had a vast tree in the short forecourt/front yard that was shorter than our house when we arrived and taller when we left. Whenever I pass by the old place (it's close to major Bklyn thoroughfares, I'm not searching it out) I like that the tree is still there, somehow has not yet destroyed the house foundations! Good luck with all the moving....
Definitely time to move on Tony! But I probably will look back, just like I do with my childhood home in Pittsburgh, Grand Street in Brooklyn, our house in Nashville and the old house in France (courtesy of being friends with the new owners on FB) I'm sentimental like that. Thank you and take care!
Thank you for this. So many wonderful lines, but I think the one about Stevie Nicks's hair on a day off is (well it has to be!) my favorite.

That made me laugh out loud. I think I probably spend way too much time thinking about Stevie too! (And Chrissie and Joni.)
Ha ha, same.

That's so nice of you Bill, thank you!

Aww, I can just picture it. I think the cardinals have moved on now Angie - now that the baby(s) have come, they don't need the next anymore?!
