Thanks for sharing. I admit as of late I have had a few longings to have an extended stay back in Michigan. Not to mention go on tour. I will be spending a week there in the winter, recording with old friends and collaborators. Sounds like you really had a great tour.
Thanks Eline. I got so many compliments on the sneakers, they've become such a part of me I don't even notice that i'm wearing them any more except they do give me this extra bounce! Looking at the photo I think "a black boot with a heel would make me look taller/leaner" but when I'm playing in these shoes I feel good.
Half and half? I thought that was what they called rice and chips served as an accompaniment to a takeaway Chinese up North! Then, perhaps it's semi skimmed milk? No, it's half cream, half milk! Why? What is it used for?
As for the festival chairs, they're a must since the demise of the deckchair on the beaches. I love them!
Great post as usual, showing the usual 2 nation's separated by a common language!
So funny Stribs, in England, I use double cream (or single sometime) in coffee because there is no half and half. Whole milk just doesn't do it. The half and half makes the coffee creamy, it's one thing I really miss when I'm in the UK! But I'm willing to make do with actual cream which I love.
I know those folding chairs (they even come with carrying cases) are so practical and it's only a matter of time before I give in!
you're obviously not a beer-drinker, ha ha!! the "cooler" (we say ice chest in the south) is an essential road-piece. or was, for me; however, you are, obviously, a great writer, tho: so carry on with the next book!!
"I hoped I wouldn’t disappoint people." I think its safe to say -- from my perspective -- you never have.
Thank you Hal!
as always, I immensely enjoy reading this, thanks for sharing your lovely stories
Thank you for reading Truus!

Enjoy your Michigan time Bill, and thank you for reading!
Another great travelogue, Amy. Elijah Craig is a good traveling companion. Or a stay at home companion.
You know Bob, it was really not bad at all!
Lovely photos and description. And I see you were wearing your lucky sneakers!

Sounds like you just missed the snow in Michigan. Someone in the Atlantic Tunnel (WFMU) chat room mentioned Traverse City and said it was snowing.
And I thought only frisco made good sourdough.
Right? There are many unknown things about Michigan!

I know a cooler (I like ice chest) makes so much sense Clarke! Maybe I just haven't found the right one yet.
they are like amps, ha ha!! finding the right one!! i should give you mine, since i stopped drinking! ha ha.
"The Clarke Marty Memorial Ice Chest" - I'll take it.
Such a memorable time with you. I enjoyed you very much, Amy!
It was so nice spending time with you Shannon!
