That's a fabulous piece, Amy, and I'm reading it first thing this morning after watching, the last thing before bed, an old West Wing episode in which Leo says "Who knows what kind of special relationship women have with their shoes?" I'm not sure men are less serious about their shoes. I mean, it would be just as hard for me to leave the house in a pair of earth shoes as it would for you. (And I remember a conversation with my old friend Alex in which we decided that, after wearing nothing but motorcycle boots for thirty years, to send yourself out for the day in a pair of sports sandals and a Bud Lite T-shirt would be equivalent—as an assault on the ego—to dropping a hit of acid.) But maybe men have less imagination. Also, men aren't constantly judged, like women (of which your judgment by the imaginary women in the RealReal shipping department is an extreme example). Anyway, we love you. And don't forget: you're a kooky older lady who still knows how to rock AND HAS AN AMP.
Beautiful reminder that men have the same standards/concerns, just less options to mess with their sense of self, thank you Mike! I'm just picturing you in that t-shirt and sandals and it's not working (unless of course you decide to go that route). Love to you and June!
I love shoes so much and have some great ones. A pair of shoes I bought in Taormina made of light green baby soft suede are my favorites. Love you Amy. Your song "don't ever change" has made me cry like a baby every time I hear it since I bought "Til the Wheels Fall Off" after a show in St. Louis, where I live. Thank you for that. Love tears, you know.
They have thin crepe soles. They have hand-sewn padded arch support in the bottom, made of creamy leather. They have fat round worm laces that match. I sat there and handled them for a long time, telling myself I couldn't afford the $300 they cost, but I had a credit card, so, I bought them anyway.
You get more adorable by the minute.
You're sweet, thanks Eline!
You and your new shoes are delightful!
Thanks Naomi! Look forward to wearing them when it gets just a little warmer.

Those sound like some amazing shoes Tony and I know men also can fall for beautiful ones. Please say hi to St. Louis for me, and don't ever change!

And now if you pro-rated your wears, they were worth the cost right? They sound wonderful.
