Loved this! Your writing keeps getting better and better. I loved the virtual visit to LA. How beautifully you evoke the way travel so often has us shuttling back and forth between past and present, retracing our footsteps while blazing new trails …I loved how you honored the past without going back to relive it while you and your daughter reaffirmed your bond. Just lovely. Thank you!
Oh my gosh, thank you so much! Sometimes I worry that I've lost it with writing - I look back at old posts and think "I was imaginative and creative back then...my phone has killed my brain!" So it's a relief to think I am communicating. Thanks again, for reading and for your kind comment.
Thanks for taking me on your LA visit. I loved my four years working there, hitting Musso and Franks and other iconic institutions. A friend and I even spent the night in the Academy Award bleachers to watch the red carpet for Out of Africa and Kiss of the Spider Woman nominees! So many fun memories.

Now that makes me feel good - thanks Clarke. It feels so comfortable at home, but wow it is good out there, I feel fortunate to travel.
Loved your Roadhouse band experience. Did you learn the name of the band?
